How does CaptiFi Connect compare with TextMagic?
TextMagic charges a flat $0.049 a text at every volume on pay as you go, with a dedicated number and a sender name at $10 a month each, and shows no pounds prices on its UK view. CaptiFi Connect charges 3.5p to 5p plus VAT with volume discounts, includes keywords and link tracking, and gives 10 free credits against TextMagic's half a credit.
What TextMagic offers (checked 16 October 2026)
TextMagic sells mass texting, a two-way messenger and a shared inbox that also takes email, live chat, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, email campaigns, visual automation flows, email to SMS, keyword auto-responders, SMS surveys, subscribe forms, contact segments with custom fields, a REST API, mobile apps, and integrations through Zapier, HubSpot, Shopify and WooCommerce. Users are unlimited. It states SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, names PECR on its UK page, and shows a UK freephone number.
Pricing on the UK view is in dollars: $0.049 a text at every volume with no discount, inbound free, a dedicated UK number at $10 a month (first month free) and a sender name at $10 a month with approval taking up to 14 days. VAT at 20% is added for UK customers. The trial is 30 days with no card and half a credit, which the help centre puts at about 10 texts. Credits never expire on pay as you go. A monthly Professional plan exists but its price is not published.
Where CaptiFi Connect differs
You see prices in pence, not dollars, and they fall with volume: 5p, 4.5p, 4p and 3.5p plus VAT. The trial is 10 free credits, not half of one. Sender names are free after our check rather than $10 a month, and keywords and link tracking are included. Everything is built for UK numbers, UK rules and UK working hours.
TextMagic is the better fit if you want one inbox for SMS, email, WhatsApp and social messages, a visual automation builder, email campaigns, or texts to other countries. We send SMS to UK mobiles and nothing else.
Moving from TextMagic
Switching takes an afternoon. Export your contacts and opt-out list from TextMagic as CSV, create a CaptiFi Connect account, and import both: contacts go in with column mapping, opt-outs go in under Opt-outs so nobody who has stopped hears from you again. Sender names are re-checked by us, which takes a working day or two, so ask for them first.
- Set everything up while we check your account: contacts, lists, templates, keywords and API keys all work before approval.
- Build against the API with a test key, then swap in a live key. The request shapes are documented on one page and in the OpenAPI document.
- Run the first campaign to a small list and compare the delivery report with what you are used to.

TextMagic charges $0.049 a text at every volume and adds VAT. Our packs are 5p, 4.5p, 4p and 3.5p plus VAT. Which is cheaper on the smallest pack depends on the exchange rate on the day; on every larger pack ours is lower, and sender names, keywords and link tracking are free here.
Does CaptiFi Connect have a shared inbox for email and WhatsApp?
No. Our inbox is for SMS only, one thread per number. TextMagic's takes several channels in one place.
Does CaptiFi Connect have automation flows?
Not a visual builder. Keywords give you automatic replies and list opt-ins, and the API and webhooks let your own system do the rest.
What can TextMagic do that CaptiFi Connect cannot?
Text other countries, run email campaigns, take WhatsApp and social messages into the inbox, build automation flows visually, run surveys and subscribe forms, and offer phone and chat support. If those matter, TextMagic is the right choice.
