What is CaptiFi Connect?
CaptiFi Connect is a UK business texting service run by CaptiFi Connect Ltd, a sister company of CaptiFi. Businesses send one-off texts and campaigns to UK mobile numbers from a web dashboard or a REST API, answer replies in a two-way inbox, and pay with prepaid credits from 3.5p a text. Keywords, link tracking, email to SMS and team logins are included. Every account is checked before its first send.

Write and send
Pick who it goes to and write the text. The character, part and credit count updates as you type, and it names any character that would switch the text to Unicode.
Answer replies
Replies sit in one thread per number with what you sent, and you answer from the same place. Keywords reply for you when you want them to.

From sign-up to your first text
Create an account
Sign up with your company name and email address. You get 10 free credits and no card is needed.
We check it
Every new account is checked by a person, usually the same working day. Meanwhile add contacts, templates and keywords, and build against the API with a test key.
Buy a pack
Pay by card under Billing, from £25 for 500 credits. The credit is on your account the moment the payment clears, with a VAT invoice by email.

Text one person or a whole list from the dashboard, send by email, or send from your own system through the API.

For developers
Send from your own system
The REST API covers what the dashboard does with messages, contacts, campaigns and keywords. Post JSON with an API key, and we'll push delivery reports, replies and clicks back to you on signed webhooks.
- Test keys send nothing and cost nothing, and they still fire your webhooks, so you can build the whole flow first.
- An Idempotency-Key header means a retried request never sends twice.
- Webhooks are signed with HMAC SHA-256, so you can check each one came from us.
- One JSON envelope for every response, and an OpenAPI 3.1 document describing the lot.

No marketplace to search. If your booking system, CRM or till can call a URL or send an email, it can send a text.

Compliance
Texting within the UK rules
Under PECR, a marketing text needs the person's consent (or a soft opt-in) and a way to opt out in every message. We handle STOP replies, add an opt-out line to campaigns and keep campaigns out of the small hours; getting consent stays with you as the sender.
STOP and START
STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT and OPT OUT (and a couple of variants) put the number on your opt-out list, and START or UNSTOP takes it off. It works the same from the dashboard and the API.
An opt-out line and quiet hours
Campaign texts end with "Reply STOP to opt out" unless you turn it off, and a campaign launched late at night waits until the morning unless you say otherwise.
Checked accounts and sender names
We check every new account before it can send, and we turn down sender names that imitate another brand or a public body.
UK numbers only
We text mobiles in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Any other number is refused with the reason, and you aren't charged for it.

How much does it cost?
You buy a pack of credits by card: 500 for £25, 2,000 for £90, 5,000 for £200, 20,000 for £700, plus VAT. One credit is one SMS part to a UK mobile, so a short text is 5p on the smallest pack and 3.5p on the biggest. Replies are free, credits never expire, and there is no monthly fee.
Is there a free trial?
Every new account gets 10 free credits once it is approved, with no card needed, enough to text yourself and a few colleagues. Test API keys are free as well and send nothing.
Who runs CaptiFi Connect?
CaptiFi Connect Ltd. It is a sister company of CaptiFi, which runs guest WiFi marketing for UK venues, and it sells business texting to any UK company.
Which numbers can I text?
Mobile numbers in the UK, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Landlines and numbers in other countries are turned down when you send, with the reason, and you aren't charged for them.
How do replies work?
When you text from a number, people can reply like they would to anyone else. The reply lands in your inbox in a thread with that person and costs you nothing, can be emailed to you, and can reach your own system by webhook. Texts sent from a sender name can't be replied to.
Can people text me first?
On a dedicated number, yes: anyone can text it and it reaches your inbox, which is what makes keywords on posters work. On the shared numbers every account starts with, replies are matched to the account that texted that person in the last 30 days.
Can texts show my business name?
Yes, once we've approved it. Ask for a sender name of 3 to 11 characters in the dashboard and we'll check it, including against the MEF SenderID Protection Registry, before you can use it. Sender names are free.
Is there a test mode?
Yes. A test API key accepts requests just like a live one, marks each text delivered a few seconds later and fires your webhooks. Nothing is sent or charged, and test keys work while your account is still being checked.
