  • REST API

    Send texts, manage contacts and lists, run campaigns and read delivery status from your own code. JSON over HTTPS with an API key; one envelope for every response; an OpenAPI 3.1 document you can generate a client from.

    • Test keys that send nothing, cost nothing and still fire your webhooks
    • An Idempotency-Key header so a retried request never sends twice
    • Rate limits that are documented, with Retry-After when you hit them

    About the API

  • Webhooks

    We post to your URL when a text is sent, delivered or fails, when a reply arrives, when someone opts out, and when a tracked link is clicked. Each delivery is signed with HMAC SHA-256 and retried with backoff for about a day.

    • Six events: message.sent, message.delivered, message.failed, message.received, opt_out.created, link.clicked
    • A test button and a delivery log for every endpoint
    • Rotate the signing secret whenever you like

  • Zapier, Make and Power Automate

    There is no CaptiFi Connect app in their directories yet. You do not need one: each of them has a webhook trigger and an HTTP action. Point a webhook at the trigger to react to replies and deliveries, and call our API from the action to send.

  • Email to SMS

    Any system that can send an email can send a text. Email the mobile number at our domain from a verified address and the body goes out as an SMS. No code, nothing to install, and it works from Outlook and Gmail too.

    • Verified sender addresses only
    • Replies come back to the inbox and, if you want, to your email
    • Failures are bounced back to the sender with the reason

  • CSV import and export

    Bring contacts in from any system that exports a spreadsheet: map the columns, choose a list, and see which rows were skipped and why. Message history exports to CSV with every status and timestamp.

    • Numbers in any UK format are tidied up on the way in
    • Existing contacts are updated in place, never duplicated
    • Opt-out lists import too, so nobody who has stopped hears from you again

Example

An order update from Zapier or Make

A new order in your shop triggers the zap or scenario. The HTTP step posts to our API with the customer's number and a text built from the order fields. Delivery comes back to a second zap through the message.delivered webhook, if you want to record it.

Questions about integrations

Is there a Zapier app for CaptiFi Connect?

Not in the Zapier directory yet. Use "Webhooks by Zapier": a catch hook receives our webhook events, and a custom request posts to our API to send a text. Make and Power Automate work the same way with their webhook and HTTP modules.

Which systems have ready-made connectors?

None yet. Everything connects through the API, webhooks, email to SMS or CSV. If your booking system, CRM or till can send an email or call a URL, it can send a text.

Can CaptiFi guest WiFi send texts through CaptiFi Connect?

That is being built: CaptiFi, our sister company, will send its venue texts through the same public API. Nothing about the API is special to CaptiFi; anyone can build the same integration.

Do webhooks work while my account is being checked?

Yes. Test API keys work before approval and fire real webhooks for the simulated sends, so you can build and test the whole flow and switch to a live key when the account is approved.

What does an integration cost?

Nothing beyond the texts you send. The API, webhooks, email to SMS and imports are included on every account.
