What is Bulk SMS?
Bulk SMS means sending the same text, often personalised with merge fields, to a large list of people at once, such as customers, members or staff.
Typical bulk sends are an offer to past customers, a closure notice or a reminder to everyone booked in tomorrow. A bulk send can be marketing or a plain service message. A school texting every parent about a snow day is bulk, and it promotes nothing, so the marketing rules don't come into it.
A garden centre in Kent with 2,000 customers who've agreed to hear about events might send one text about its Christmas opening hours to the whole list on a Monday morning.
In CaptiFi Connect you send in bulk by running a campaign to a list. It can go now or at a set time, and its row on the Campaigns page shows progress as it sends. Contacts come in by CSV import. Numbers on your opt-out list are skipped and never charged, and campaigns add your opt-out line unless you turn it off.
