What is Webhook?
A webhook is an HTTP request one system sends to another the moment something happens, such as a text being delivered or a reply arriving.
Without webhooks your system has to keep asking the API whether anything has changed, which is slow and wasteful. With one, you give the service a URL and it posts a small JSON message there when an event happens. Your system answers with a 2xx status to say it got it.
A car dealer in Derby could use a webhook to mark a test drive as confirmed in its own system the moment a customer replies YES to a booking text.
CaptiFi Connect sends five events: message.sent, message.delivered, message.failed, message.received and opt_out.created, and you choose which ones each webhook gets. Every delivery is signed with HMAC SHA-256 so you can check it came from us, and deliveries that fail are retried. The dashboard has a test button and a log of recent deliveries for each webhook.
