What is Two-way SMS?
Two-way SMS is business texting where customers can reply to the number that texted them, and the replies come back to the business as a conversation.
Business texts used to be one-way announcements from a name or a short code. Two-way texting uses a real number, so a customer can answer 'Can we make it 3pm instead?' and someone at the business sees it and replies in the same thread, much as they would on their own phone.
A holiday let company in Cornwall texting guests their arrival details might get 'Is there parking?' back, and answer it in the thread without anyone picking up a phone.
The CaptiFi Connect inbox groups texts by phone number, so each customer reads as one conversation, and your replies go from the same number whenever it's available. Texts you receive are free. The message.received webhook can pass each reply to your own system as well, and opt-out words such as STOP are acted on automatically.
