What is SMS aggregator?
An SMS aggregator is a company with connections to many mobile networks that carries business texts to phones and passes delivery receipts back.
Most business texting services don't connect to each network themselves. They hand texts to one or more aggregators, which hold the agreements with the UK networks and look after routing, sender names and delivery receipts.
When an estate agent in Belfast sends a viewing confirmation as 'HomesNI', the text goes from the agent's software to the texting service, then to an aggregator, then to the buyer's network. The buyer just sees the name.
CaptiFi Connect uses a licensed A2P aggregator for campaigns and for texts sent from a sender name. You don't need an account with the aggregator yourself, because CaptiFi Connect holds that relationship and you see one balance, one message history and one set of webhooks. Receipts from the aggregator update each text's status in your history and trigger the message.delivered and message.failed webhooks.
