What is Throughput?
Throughput is how many texts a platform or route can send in a given time, usually measured in messages per second.
It matters when a lot of texts need to go at once, like a match that's been called off or a shift that needs covering within the hour. A single phone sends slowly, which is fine for a conversation and hopeless for a list of 5,000 people. Aggregator routes are built for volume.
A rugby club in Gloucester telling 1,500 members that Saturday's game is off wants the whole list to know quickly, before anyone sets off for the ground.
CaptiFi Connect sends campaigns through an aggregator route built for volume, and the Campaigns page shows progress as texts go out. We don't publish a messages-per-second figure. If you're planning a very large send, or one where the timing matters to the minute, email hello@captificonnect.co.uk beforehand. Through the API, an Idempotency-Key makes it safe to retry a big request that timed out.
